Our Keynote:

Spiro Papathanasakis is the co-founder and Director of eSSENTIAL Accessibility, which enhances the customer experience for people with disabilities, via an assistive technology app and web accessibility services. Spiro’s passion for assistive technology and helping people with disabilities comes from having built a successful sports surgery clinic and wellness center.

eSSENTIAL Accessibility inaugurated the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) Multi-national Excellence Award in the People with Disabilities category. Winners to date are Duracell for ‘Trust Your Power’ (2014) and Kimberly Clark’s Kleenex for ‘Unlikely Best Friends’ (2015).

Spiro graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science.

eSSENTIAL Accessibility's co-founders Spiro Papathanasakis and Simon Dermer  adapted, deployed and licensed a proprietary web-based app that offers an innovative approach for delivering assistive tools to those who need them, mainly people with physical disabilities such as quadriplegia. For the more than 20 million Americans who are unable to access websites without aid, the app complements, and, in some cases, replaces, expensive third-party assistive technology. Today, eSSENTIAL Accessibility helps organizations build loyalty with people with disabilities.
