Eduardo Meza-Etienne, a certified member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals, will discuss the new legislation as it pertains to digital accessibility going into effect in 2018, the recent events regarding ADA as it applies to websites, and some of the new technical requirements the World Wide Web Consortium expects to finalize this year. He will talk about their impact including some of the practical things companies can do to prepare and get ready for these changes.

Speaker Bio:

Eduardo, a brain injury survivor, has been involved in the accessibility and disabilities field for over 15 years working for numerous government agencies and contractors in support of people with disabilities. He is an advocate for people with disabilities and his competencies include a strong sales and business development background in both the private and public sectors. He supports eSSENTIAL Accessibility in its efforts to promote diversity and inclusion among companies that are interested in serving—and building loyalty with—consumers and employees with disabilities.

He is a skilled technologist, specializing in international accessibility trends, assistive technologies, legal mandates and social media. Eduardo has served on the Board of Directors of the D.C. Metro Business Leadership Network since 2009, and serves as their in-house Accessibility, Webmaster and Social Media expert. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Frederick county Maryland.
